On 22 May 2024, the forum titled "Hong Kong - The Common Law Gateway to China and Beyond", organised by the Department of Justice, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai of the Government of HKSA and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, co-organised by Dubai Chambers, supported by the South China International Arbitration Center (SCIAHK), was held in Dubai, which attracted over 300 attendants from legal, business and other sectors of the UAE. Mr. Paul Lam, the Secretary for Justice of the Government of HKSAR, Mr. Zhang Yiming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the UAE, and Mr. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of the Dubai Chambers, delivered their speeches at the forum. Mr. Li Xiongfeng, Deputy Secretary General of the SCIAHK, along with Ms. Antonia Birt and Mr. David Holloway, arbitrators of the SCIAHK and the SCIA based in the Middle East, participated in the event.
